Self-host setup

Prepare for your own Jotnow deployment.

Self-host is not available yet. This page lists the prerequisites so you can assess the upcoming release. It is not a deploy guide, and there is no purchase or download to start today.

What you will operate

  • A Supabase project for authentication, your database, and app functions.
  • A static web host, or the planned included byo.jotnow.dev option.
  • Your backups and migration updates.

What you will bring

  • An OpenAI API key and a Voyage AI API key, billed by those providers.
  • Database credentials for migration updates, plus a classic Supabase Management API access token to deploy app functions.
  • A private place for deployment secrets.

The classic SUPABASE_ACCESS_TOKEN is account-wide: it carries your Supabase account’s access across every organization and project you can reach, including projects unrelated to Jotnow. Keep it only in your deployment secret store. Read Supabase’s access-token guide.

Without the required AI-provider keys, AI Recall, semantic search of Recall history, and Tidy do not run. Saved history remains available to browse.

When the release is ready

The license key will arrive in your Lemon Squeezy receipt email. Keep it private and copy it from the receipt when the release instructions ask for it. The key never appears in this URL, and this page does not ask you to paste it.

Until purchasing opens, you can use local mode or compare the hosted plans on the pricing page.
